Uzbekistan will adopt a Concept for Development of Transport and Logistics System by 2030. Minister of transport announced that alternative corridors would be identified to bypass “problematic countries”. Agreements on transportation with China, Ukraine, Moldova and other nations will be revised.
President instructed to deliver 1,000 new buses for Tashkent in 2025, minister of transport said. In 2023, the capital received 1,000 buses, including 200 articulated buses and 300 electric ones. Earlier, the city secured a contract with BYD for K9UD eBus electric buses.
The Tashkent-Andijan toll road project will cost $4.65 billion, deputy transport minister of Uzbekistan Jasurbek Choriyev said. The feasibility study is expected to be completed by the end of June. He also mentioned the Trans-Afghan railway and other projects.
The transport agencies of Uzbekistan and Russia signed a memorandum. It covered the exchange of information on traffic safety violations and railway transport operation, as well as digitalization and introduction of modern technologies.
